Brokerage Event on "Joint Venture Opportunities between Companies from Romania and Ukraine for Boosting Blue Businesses in Maritime Transport"

On the 18th of August 2022 it was organized the Brokerage event "Joint Venture Opportunities between Companies from Romania and Ukraine for Boosting Blue Businesses in Maritime Transport” at the premises of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Navigation of Constanta (CCINA Constanta).

The event was held in a hybrid format, facilitating the participation of specialists from Romania and Ukraine through online connection.

The works of the event were presided by Ms. Ruxandra Serescu, General Director of CCINA Constanța, the host institution of the event.

Dr. Olena Zhukova presented the activities of the Ukrainian Maritime Cluster that is specialized in shipbuilding activities.

As guests of honor, Prof. Dr. Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", Mr. Oleksandr Senkevych, Mayor of Mykolaiv, Ukraine, Mr. Cezar Bichescu, City Manager of Galati Municipality and Dr. Gelu Stan, General Director of the Romanian Shipbuilders Assocation - ANCONAV.

Prof. Dr. Eden Mamut presented the 4BIZ – Boosting Black Sea Blue Biz project, which aims to support innovative SMEs and start-ups specialized on fisheries and aquaculture, coastal and maritime tourism and maritime transport.

The works of the event were attended by representatives of the companies from the sector from Ukraine and Romania, who presented proposals for cooperation and development of business partnerships.

There were raised proposals for cooperation in the field of gas exploitation from the continental shelf, of the use of renewable energy resources and of sustainable solutions for agriculture and aquaculture.

The participants saluted the Black Sea Universities Network` initiative for organizing such an event. The priorities for the next period have been established, as well as the nomination of the responsible representatives from the participating institutions that shall continue the jointly agreed initiatives.

The 4BIZ - Boosting Black Sea Blue Biz project is funded by the European Commission, through the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, under the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) program, and has a duration of 24 months.
