On July 21, 2023, during the first day of the Burgas Blue Summit and Innovation Expo, was signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Black Sea Universities Network and the Municipality of Burgas, representing the 4BIZ Project Consortium - Boosting the Blue Economy in the Black Sea Region by Initiating a Business Collaborative Framework in the fields of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Coastal and Maritime Tourism and Maritime Transport, and respectively DBAN Project Consortium- Digital Blue economy and innovation Acceleration Network.
On behalf of the 4BIZ Project Consortium, the Memorandum was signed by Prof. Dr. Eden MAMUT, Secretary General of the Black Sea Universities Network and coordinator of the 4BIZ project, and on behalf of the DBAN Project by Mrs. Vesna BALTINA, Vice-Mayor of the Municipality of Burgas and coordinator of the DBAN project.
The purpose of this MoU is to establish a framework for cooperation between the parties, for the exchange of information and research results in order to support the needs of the business sector in the countries around the Black Sea for stimulating the Blue Economy in the region, and facilitating the exchange of best practices and cooperation between business communities.
The 4BIZ Project Consortium includes the following partners: Black Sea Universities Network (Romania) – as coordinator, International Center for Black Sea Studies (Greece), Galati Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Romania), National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute , Public Union Ukrainian Maritime Cluster, Batumi State Maritime Academy (Georgia), DOKA Regional Development Agency in Trabzon (Turkey), Marine Cluster Bulgaria and Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest (Romania).
The DBAN Project Consortium includes the following partners: Municipality of Burgas (Bulgaria) – as coordinator, South-East Zone Digital Innovation HUB (Bulgaria), International Business and Economic Development Center (Georgia), Odessa State Agrarian University (Ukraine).
